Sure, pasta is easy to make but not a fun atmosphere where both kids and adults beverages are welcome. Also, their pasta is flavorful and includes vegan options. I devoured my linguini with mussels, clams and pancetta. Be sure to make a reservation if you don't want to wait in line. This place gets packed early. Take a photo booth snap in the mini arcade in back. I forgot to!
This place is very busy but good for families. If you go as soon as they open at 5pm, expect lots of families with small children eating early. I also appreciated that they serve zucchini noodles in a few of the dishes so if you're a diabetic, you have good choices. Also pinball machines and a photo booth in back to occupy time while you wait.
This is an everybody kind of place. I had spaghetti and meatballs with great satisfaction. We also had orachetti with a creamy sauce, a seafood linguini, and meatball sliders at the table, all of which were good and generous. Everything was solid. Drinks were not full strength or delicious so stick to beer and soda. Service was okay. Wait was long and requires Yelp.
The meatballs are a MUST. The flavors and the tangy sause are tantalizing to the taste buds! Very nice Cesar dressing on the salad, too. VERY attentive and fast wait service. Super friendly staff at this fun place.
Casual and artistic Italian restaurant on Mission in Bernal Heights. We ordered the pesto pasta and a marinara spaghetti with vegan meatballs. The food was tasty. Peak times have long waits (we waited over an hour on Friday night at around 8pm). Staff was super friendly and the restaurant has interesting decor and a fun vibe. Would recommend!
Amazing. Stopped in by chance before hopping on the red eye back to Cleveland. Sauce was a perfect thickness and stuck to the pasta well. Belly full of spaghetti and meatballs put me right to sleep on my flight home
Such good food!! I recommend getting the garlic knots. They're AMAZING. The salads are really delicious as well. Fast delivery. Decent pricing. Would recommend this to anyone & everyone!!
Emmy's Spaghetti Shack is probably the most delicious spaghetti I've ever had. The service is friendly, beautiful and amazingly quick. The few minutes I waited for my bowl of spaghetti I enjoyed snacking on their house focaccia bread and dipping it in olive oil with a splash of balsimic. That was also delicious. I definitely recommend it to anyone that loves delicious Italian food.
italian food and the atmosphere at this location is excellent. Very appetizing. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, I'll be back. Prices were fair for the quality of the food.
Rude cashier she can be nice I’m supporting your business and buying something from you twice a day but it’s last change your attitude.
Emmy’s Spaghetti Shack has all your favorite Italian-American delights you can ask for. I ordered garlic bread with spaghetti and meatballs, the portion was big enough to share. Absolutely the best spaghetti I’ve had in my life! The red sangria was so refreshing and sweet we ordered a pitcher for our table. Overall fun atmosphere, incredible food, and drinks.
Awesome customer service and delicious pastas! Highly recommend 😋
Amazing food. Really nice atmosphere. They have some of the best Italian in the city. Great service and drinks.
Sadly this place is purely hype - although I am not sure what people are so hyped on. Perhaps the massive burner-esque unicorn mural on the wall? Pretty tacky. The food is a clear step up from the $1 Trader Joe’s pasta I made in college, but that’s not exactly a high bar. The sauces were quite bland and the meatballs only tasted of salt.Their cocktails were very good although the boot thing is another pointless gimmick. I was really hoping to like this place :(
Very nice speghetti. It tastes even better after taking it home
Delicious place. Spaghetti is great, flavorful, medium portions. The clams were good. The Fries not as Great don’t spend your money on that but the Spaghetti is wonderful almost homemade.
Nice service and setup, but meatballs and spaghetti are not something special at that price point, so as bread (that tasted more like safeway bought).
The pasta and cocktails were delicious. It's not cheap, but barely anything else really is either anymore. We are at the bar which is a good quick seat for 2. I kind of wish the tv screen wasn't where it is in the bar just playing some movie for no reason on mute, I think without subtitles either. Still just distracting and unnecessary
I like Emmy's a lot. I've gotten a couple of their pastas and they were both great. I find their spaghetti and meatballs to be just fine (sorry!) I like the vibe inside. It's very eclectically decorated. They lost a star mainly because their menu is a mess. I think it's supposed to be charming since it's handwritten but it is so confusing and difficult to follow.
I don't know what the hype is all about here. It's certainly good spaghetti but for $16 a plate I was expecting something a bit more special. The meatballs were good but not anything that exceptional.
Really enjoyed the white wine sangria which has an apple flavor. The meatballs are delicious!
Good fun! Great food and wonderful service. And there are games and a photo booth!
Casual, noisy place with friendly staff. Good tasty pasta dishes, great cup of coffee.
Cool place. Food was alright. Our kids got the meatballs and we liked those better than our entrees. Service was slow at first but then got better upon our requests. Kids eat free Monday evening which is cool
Been to Emmy's multiple times and keep coming back when I need a spaghetti and meatballs fix. They certainly know what they are doing here! Classic comfort food. Everything about the place is SF Mission funky. Colors. The menu makes your eyes water. Music.
Dive bar meets excellent pasta in the best way possible. I definitely will be going back. The portions are on the bigger side and the appetizers pretty much all looked good. The cheesy garlic bread and the fried cauliflower were great and I'd totally get them again.
We love this family friendly restaurant!  They have kid’s menus to color on, the staff is always super nice to our daughter (3 years old), and they have the biggest and healthiest kid’s menu I've seen. There are many choices on the adult menu as well and everything has been good so far, especially the burgers and fries.  There is a lot of space inside and they also have a nice outdoor patio as well. The food is amazing, and the service is fast and courteous.
Very underwhelming. My partner and I have visited now twice. We've had the linguine w/mussels, spaghetti and meatballs, and something with the creamy white sauce. Both times we visited we left feeling like we could make better pasta at home. Was very surprised to see so many high reviews. Really folks? This is 5 star pasta? fuggetaboutit.
Would I go back: It's fairly basic for the pricing so might not.Food:Caesar Salad - 3/5 - Standard taste in a basic preparation.Spaghetti- 3/5 - Decent taste but nothing extraordinary in my mind. The portion size was ok but definitely could have used more.Service: 3/5 - Friendly service.Ambiance: 3/5 - It’s fairly casual inside and has a quirky decor.
I absolutely have loved this place every time I have visited, but this to-go order was absolutely inexcusable. I ordered a Shack Caesar, and only a Shack Caesar. It’s 5oz of Romain lettuce, exactly six croutons, and an ounce and half of dressing. This was $13. Thirteen dollars? Knowing Emmy’s, I expected something MUCH bigger. However this kind of price gouging is completely inexcusable. I will never be ordering take-out again.
Very kid friendly, if you can get a table, go for it! Drinks are very reasonably priced too!
Outstanding location for tasty italian food. Came here on a Friday I think. Prices that won't break you. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.
Delicious food, historic atmosphere, a photo booth, family-friendly, Bountiful portions, great drinks, terrific service, what more could you ask for?
Always great food! I’ve been a fan since they started in that tiny space on Virginia St. Eclectic atmosphere...they have a lot of Dolly Parton memorabilia including a pinball machine..for a fanboy such as myself, this is a true gem! The only downside is that the last few times we have been in there seems to be a lot of children in large groups running around the restaurant. So, it’s turned into a pseudo-Chuck E Cheese. (And no, this isn’t on Tuesday’s kids eat free night either) so, if you’re looking for a grownup out to dinner experience, you might be disappointed.
